This festive spiced pear bellini cocktail recipe is made with just three simple ingredients. It’s the perfect fall brunch drink!
Before I jump into today’s post, I want to apologize for the radio-silence on Tuesday. After being out of town, I was a little behind schedule and decided that instead of posting something quick just to maintain my schedule, I would wait until I had something REAL good.
And here we are… with the REAL GOOD.
THANK GOODNESS IT’S PEAR SEASON.
Let’s talk cocktails, specifically brunch cocktails. Traditionally bloody mary’s and mimosas are what brunch is all about. And while I enjoy both of them, I’m also bored. Let’s shake things up!

The spiced pear bellini is the perfect brunch cocktail for fall!
Ok ok I know what you’re thinking… and yes you’re right; bellinis are quite similar to mimosas. Switch out the orange juice for some peach and you’re all set. But peaches are not in season and pears are just hitting the grocery stores for the fall and winter months.
With only three simple ingredients, these spiced pear bellinis are easy to make (and even easier to drink!).
This cocktail starts with a slice of pear. I used Bartlett for this recipe because those are the first to be in season. But as the seasons change from winter to fall, the pear you choose to use can as well. Anjou pears would be perfect during the holidays!
The star of this drink comes next – the spiced pear liquor. I really love this liquor because it is pretty sharp and a little spicy. And I always need a little kick at brunch 😉 Top it off with prosecco and champagne and all that is left is the music!
As always, Pat found the perfect song to pair with our cocktails – Golden Autumn Day by Van Morrison.
Van Morrison has always been a favorite of mine. I know every word to every song on ‘The Best of Van Morrison’ album and have the warmest memories of dancing with my dad to ‘Have I Told You Lately That I Love You’ in the kitchen at our cabin. And when Pat and I got married, after my dad had passed away, my grandpa and I danced to that exact song.
‘Golden Autumn Day’ is one of Van’s lesser known songs but one that is quite appropriate given the record high temperatures Chicago has seen over the last week.
“And I’m taking in the Indian Summer.
And I’m soaking it up in my mind.
And I’m pretending that it’s paradise.
On a golden autumn day, on a golden autumn day.
On a golden autumn day, an a golden autumn day.”
Even though Mother Nature hasn’t fully embraced fall, we can do our best to will her to it with these spiced pear bellinis. Cheers!
